FACTS // Monika Wood is one of NILS newest team ambassadors. She is an active outdoor woman where she began skiing at the age of five with a strong influence from her Austrian parents. Her love of the outdoors and skiing continued with becoming a National Ski Patroller at the age of 15. She is still a member of the National Ski Patrol and the Bryan Mountain Patrol. Throughout the year, she works for a technology company. But she is still very involved with Skiing. Some of her favorite ski locations are Breckenridge, Vail, Copper Mountain and Snowmass. We are so excited to have one of our newest ambassadors, Monika Wood as a part of the 2017/2018 NILS Ambassador team.

CAREER, OR SKI HIGHLIGHTS // Under Monika’s leadership patrol, she was voted, “Outstanding Patrol” of Rocky Mountain Division. First patrol in the US to have all members wear helmets. Monika is the mother of Walter Wood, who is a professional world class skier. He has competed in Dew Tours, World Championships, World Cups and X Games as a halfpipe skier and avid backcountry skier.
